Connect Google Drive to sync your library and EPUBs across your own devices. Google may briefly redirect you to sign in, then return you here.
Use Pull Latest to load the newest library from your Book Nook Google Drive folder onto this device. Use Push to Cloud after adding or editing books so this device's current library becomes the cloud copy your other devices receive next time they pull.
All books, highlights, and reading progress are stored locally in this browser using IndexedDB.
Technical details and one-time setup steps for a few optional extras. Most people never need to open this — everything else in Book Nook works without it.

Lets Circle members download shared EPUBs with one tap — no Google sign-in needed for them. Without this, shared books still work, just as a regular Drive download instead of one tap.
Open the correct Goodreads book page, then paste that full Goodreads URL here to replace the current blurb.
Group books into custom collections — cozy reads, book club picks, comfort rereads. Shelves appear as filters on the Library Wall.
Drop EPUB or audiobook files onto the Upload zone (or use the upload buttons) — they're saved on this device right away.
If someone shares this app with you, your library starts empty. Google Drive sync is per Google account, not shared — tapping "Pull Latest" connects to your own Drive, not theirs, so it won't pull their books. To get books from someone else, use Circle → Club Shelf below, or add your own copies of the files.
If an EPUB you upload doesn't attach to an existing catalog entry (title/author differ too much), it becomes a new library item instead. Use "🧹 Clean Up Library" in Settings to merge accidental duplicates.
Re-export from Goodreads later and use "🔄 Sync Goodreads Updates" to refresh ratings and shelf status without duplicating anything.
Friends don't need a Google account or Drive access — everyone joins with a 6-character invite code instead:
Only EPUBs with a file already on this device can be shared this way (50 MB max each). Audio books and catalog-only entries (no file yet) aren't shareable to the shelf.
The Activity Book Shelf holds 12 different activities — Color-by-Number, Word Search, Crossword, Bingo, and more. Only a few fit on screen at once, so scroll the shelf sideways (drag, swipe, or scroll wheel) to see the rest — a "Scroll ›" hint appears whenever there's more to see.
Pull Latest and Push to Cloud sync between your own devices only (phone, tablet, desktop) through your own Google Drive — they're not a way to share with other people. For that, use Circle sharing above.
On iPhone or iPad, if local browser storage is having a bad day, Book Nook may temporarily run in a cloud/session mode. In that case, Load Library / Pull Latest brings the cloud copy into the current session, and Push This Session publishes what is currently open before you reload.
